Office Space Tips & Suggestions In Downtown Los Angeles

Searching for office space and finding that perfect spot for you and your team or the creative space for you to be your perfect amount of productiveness can be challenging and honestly put on the to-do list with feelings of dread and anxiety. Who needs more mental stress in times like these? This has been my experience at least in the past but recently, with coworking and creative spaces popping up in central and downtown areas of cities, I’ve found this task just became a lot more fun! Especially in Downtown LA and more specifically the Arts District.

The Arts District – First off, how are all of the buildings in this neighborhood full of so much personality architecturally? It’s no wonder the world-renowned school of Architecture, Sci-Arc has made this cozy district full of refurbished warehouses and mural-covered buildings and sidewalks in their home for years. Not to mention pretty much every 5th commercial you see on tv or at least an episode of that show you are currently watching was filmed on the streets of this colorful neighborhood. Not many people would dislike an office smack day in the heart of all of this creativity and color.

Finding that perfect office space for rent Los Angeles Arts District – It really comes down to what you truly value in a workspace. Luckily most coworking spaces have options for every type of worker. With their communal areas where the coffee bar usually is, you have the option to participate in an active community, which to me sounds pleasant after working from home for a straight 3 months of quarantine. These communal areas are usually open with seats scattered throughout in hidden little nooks or central countertops to provide you with your own little work station for the day. It’s a great way to have that bit of distraction around you without the constant chatter and buzz of a coffee shop. If this isn’t what gets your creative juices flowing, don’t fret because there are so many other options available to you. This could look like a dedicated desk set up in a less central and quieter area or a completely private office where you can lock the door, turn down the lights and focus. These shared office workspaces literally have a perfect space for every type of worker!

Tips while shopping around – Coworking spaces usually set themselves apart with their killer list of amenities. Some of the more boutiquey ones sometimes offer beverages on tap like kombucha, beer, and coffee and may even have a snack bar available complimentary or for purchase. Other amenities to look out for are dog-friendly places, available on-site conference rooms, and event space rentals, podcast recording rooms, meditation quiet rooms, phone booths for that quick call you need to take in some privacy, and fully set up and stocked kitchens. If you are a commuter to the downtown area, you know how important member parking is so be sure to make sure this is available for you and your team. Here is a little secret you must be aware of and ask about! If the office space is neighborhood-centric, they probably have a special list of partner businesses that offer members specific discounts. This means yoga studios, gyms, massage studios, restaurants, and entertainment!
